Drawing Robot #1

In collaboration with Jochem van der Spek.

The Drawing robot #1 is a drawing robot which observes itself drawing, and while doing so, gets inspired by the difference between its expectations and the observed reality.

The robot is a CNC milling machine fitted with a regular BIC pen. On the drawing head a webcam is attached which continuously tracks the position of the pen while it is drawing. For this project, Jochem van der Spek asked me to help him implementing his idea of such a drawing robot.
